The Mayflower - Circle Bar
The project involved the complete strip out and structural alteration merging two existing rooms to create a space 9m x 11m. The constraints of a listed building meant a clever solution was required in order to introduce much needed new lighting and A/C that didn’t impact on the original structure and cornice. The answer was to create suspended rafts between the beams (the existing ceiling being a contrete slab structure) which enabled us to hide any unsightly pipework/services. We also discovered and restored another window which had previously been covered over behind the old back bar.

A new ‘speed’ bar was designed and built to the clients specific requirements. The idea behind the overall scheme was to retain the Theatrical character of the building whilst updating the bar to better cater for the demands of theatre interval service - serving as many people as possible in short bursts.
